‍What it is: A pill that prevents pregnancy

‍How to use it: Take 1 every day at the same time

‍How it works:

The pill can have 2 hormones - estrogen and progestin, or just 1 hormone- progestin. The hormones work in the body to prevent pregnancy by doing 3 things: Stop ovulation, thin the lining of the uterus, and create a thick cervical mucus.

‍Side effects:

Changes in your period, breast tenderness, headaches and nausea.

‍Pros: ‍

Can make periods lighter and less crampy. Can help with acne.

‍Cons

You have to take it daily.
