Scripps Family Medicine Residency Program

San Ysidro Health acts as a participating site for the Scripps Family Medicine Residency Program, in partnership with Scripps Health. San Ysidro Health has been a participating site for the Scripps Family Medicine Residency since 1999.

The program helps train the next generation of family medicine physicians with an emphasis on providing community-based care in medically underserved communities. Residents receive training in a wide array of specialties and provide full-spectrum family medicine care at San Ysidro Health’s Chula Vista location, which follows the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model of care.

San Ysidro Health is proud to have hired over 50 physicians from the Scripps Family Medicine Residency Program since its inception with several program alumni holding leadership positions at San Ysidro Health and other local health centers.
